Conversational English 
International students generally have a good knowledge of the English language used in their studies in their academic field. However, some have some difficulty in speaking English in everyday conversations and understanding what is being said on T.V. programs or read in a newspaper. The spouses of international students often have even more difficulty in conversational English and look for opportunities to become more familiar with the language. ISMC has established a popular program called "Conversational English Using the Bible as the Text." This takes place as a meeting between a Canadian and one or more internationals. The internationals read from a text and are helped with pronunciation and an understanding of the words used.
